Mr. Cassel is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in energy management, campus utility planning, building commissioning, design review, procurement, and technical staff training for not-for-profit institutions, schools, colleges, universities and professional organizations alike. He has provided mechanical design review and building commissioning services for major construction projects totaling over $600 million. Most recently, Mr. Cassel conducted a four-day LEED charrette with the Building Environment and Energy Efficient Design Research Center at the China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corporation Ltd. that focused on sustainable design and development of more than 200 schools in the Sichuan Provence of China. He also is providing commissioning review for a 2 million square foot multi-use building in Beijing called Parkview Green that is attempting a LEED Core & Shell Platinum rating.
Over the last three years, he has provided project management services for Westtown School, Hotchkiss School and Lawrenceville School. He has developed utility master plans for Juniata College, Dickinson College, The Lawrenceville School, Hotchkiss School and the Westtown School. He is leading the energy management programs at The Lawrenceville School and Dickinson College and has extensive experience in negotiating natural gas and electricity contracts in the deregulated marketplace. He has conducted facilities conditions assessments, operations overview assessments, and has overseen energy management programs at Gettysburg College, Franklin and Marshall College, Dickinson College and the Washington National Cathedral. Mr. Cassel has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University.
